Can you reply with your answer to this questions? Do you agree with her or not? If you don’t explain why not.

We have started our p.e sessions this week. Owls will be learning team work and collaboration in Mr Riley’s lessons and Tennis with Mr Grainger.
We learned how to hold the racquet correctly and began working on striking the ball this week in Tennis.

We are learning about a significant individual during our English sessions at the moment.
Can you reply to this thread with any information or facts that you have learned about our significant person?

Today we have been using collage techniques to create some art work to go on display alongside our ‘Rainbow in me’ poetry.

This was our classroom this morning. Ready and set up for learning.

And this was our classroom this afternoon. Lots of hard work and some great sentences as a result.
A brilliant start to the new school year.
Well done Owls.

A big hello and welcome to everyone in Wise Owls. I am really looking forward to working with you this year.
I will blog several times a week. I will update on what we are learning and post pictures of work.
Mr Grainger
The government have proposed that Year 2 children will take a phonics screening test in Autumn 2 this year because they missed it in Year 1 due to the Coronavirus. This is subject to legislation.
Should this go ahead the children will read 40 words. 20 of these words will be real words and 20 nonsense/alien words that are made up. The words will contain most of the sounds children have learned in phonics, up to and including phase 5. The sounds are below:
Please help your child to prepare for this by revising these sounds.
The children will be screened on a past paper. More information about this will be given by the Year 2 staff on return to school.
To look at some examples and practise reading some past papers, please follow the link and scroll
down to the phonics screening section:

Miss Swales
Just a little message from your new teacher Mr Grainger!
This second video is a hello from Mr Grainger and your new TA, Mrs Key!
Hi Wise Owls,
I hope you are all safe and well. I can’t believe it is the end of the year already. Thank you for being such an amazing class. You have all worked really hard and had a fantastic attitude! I have got lots of special memories of our time together: visiting Eureka, our Goldilocks and the Three Bears Play, Number Day, the Royal Wedding and the Bonfire in the forest. But my favorite memory will be how much you all care for one another. You are all so kind, caring and look after one another. I know you will continue to do this as you move throughout school.
Thank you for being such a special class and making my job really enjoyable! Mr Grainger is very lucky to have you all next year.
Have a lovely Summer. Stay safe and have lots of fun. See you all in September.
Love Miss Swales x
